Too Many Cops Per Shift on Slower Nights
I have been back in the city after a small hiatus for about a week now, and I have never seen this many cops on shift at any point, almost makes you not want to do crime because how unbalanced it is. The straw that broke the camel's back that urged me to write this was me standing around by the hotel and witnessing 12 cops respond to an ATM hit, not a store robbery or bank. The person who they stopped who most likely was the one that hit the ATM in the first placed, asked "8 squad cars is a bit of overkill don't you think?", the cops response was that "they were bored".
I understand it is a big city and you need a police force that is able to handle it, but on nights where shifts are slower, do what any other business does and cut staffing to meet the needs of the city.

I feel like perhaps this encounter was taken the wrong way honestly. I imagine the "12 cops" that turned up assumed it would result in a very funny haha moment since its such a small crime with such a big PD response, I'd personally find that absolutely hilarious to encounter first hand.
Without cops there is no crime, Without Criminals there is nothing for the PD to do. You cannot have one without the other. We all here to enrich an expand each others stories, cops, civs and crims alike.

How the fuck does this even remotely make sense? why wouldnt people play the characters THEY Want, Crim is Far superior to cop with mnoney made and things to do frankly this smells of utter horseshit

My brother in Christ, this is a non-issue.
Cops have SOPs and can be and will be removed from their privileged positions if they abuse server/PD mechanics.
A simple ticket with evidence/proof would resolve this without issue. Press your M key, get player codes and take a screenshot and some video evidence.
Other than that, cops doing their jobs is exactly what Echo has been needing as the numbers in the past few months have been so down horrendous that people couldn't even do basic crime without cops around.

I don't understand this post. Cops get criticized for not being on duty. Now they are getting criticized for being on duty? They responded to an ATM which is part of their job....
Cops are limited on scenes for balance reasons. So if there was a store, they would go until they can't have any more. If there was a fleeca, same thing. But GOD FORBID THEY RESPOND TO AN ATM!
I really don't understand this. Do you not want cops to interact with? Do you think people who hit ATMs should just have free money because the cops wont respond? Nah bruh.
I never in my life thought I would see a post criticizing cops for wanting to role play as cops.

Then obviously I was wrong, once again it was an observation, hence why I threw it up here. I was not even the one that was doing the robbery, I understand its not a money grind simulator, 100%. I just did not realize the previous state of things, and didn't think an ATM would have the same SOPs as a store robbery or bank. Saying that they only responded because they were bored is LQRP in my opinion.

i think the title is a bit misleading, i don't believe there's ever too many cops per shift as the city has a capacity of 350 and there's usually at most 40 cops on duty. if the SOPs state 12 is max for ATM, then technically is fine. though saying the reason for all of them being there is being "bored" is kind of a silly thing to say
