Police Integrity

Police are on the other side of the scale for criminals. Police in the server are supposed to be the individuals who uphold the law and are a prime example of law-abiding citizens. But I think everything I just said does not represent what the current police force in EchoRP is.

From cops wearing chains to cops claiming to be honourable members of gangs; cops in Echo are showcasing everything BUT Police Integrity. Yelling at criminals and being overall toxic is a common occurrence with cops. Police are supposed to be citizens who put their life on the line, not gangbangers who just want to bait shootouts.

There seriously has to be a reform regarding the police in its entirety. There are no repercussions the PD faces if someone in high command does something. If you are the chief of police, you're immune to anything coming your way. Shit talk on Twitter? A-Okay if you're chief. Use excessive force on criminals (i.e. using MP5's with no reason to), no worries; if you're high command you can do it!

Overall, I believe these are some of the changes which should be made to better enforce the police department, which has turned into a perfect way for cops with crim characters to get their shooting itch without having to war:

• Start enforcing the OOC rules within the police department (I.e. If someone reports Cop A for police integrity, it should be thoroughly reviewed and not brushed off because they are either A) A liked person, B) Staff, or a mix of both).

• Bring in a council/panel who will review claims on High Command and do something.

• Start making cops follow IC SOP's. Let's say Cop A notices Cop B wearing a chain. Is that genuinely professional? No. Cops have uniforms they should abide by. Another example would be cops treating people like they're gangbangers: they should treat people with respect and not be "shitters".
  
  I think the biggest thing that would go a long way is if Cops started to show people respect. It might be a good step, to begin with so good roleplayers don't keep leaving the server for newer and brighter places.
