Let Lawyers Do Their Job
Unfortunately, some cops just completely stonewall lawyers to the ground when it comes to any argument or time/fine reduction. I personally ask for a lawyer to give them RP, not just for the reduction but it also makes sense for my character to want a lawyer.
When lawyers ask for reductions, no matter what the charges are, cops should not use their power (powergaming) to stonewall the lawyer to a time and fine. It frustrates the lawyer AND the crim. Give leeway for the cop to argue.
Additionally, if someone tries to fight their charges, they also get punished when it comes to fine and time. That shouldn't be happening. You should get the same rights no matter if you want to fight it or not. This is not a not-compliant act.

Except it's not powergaming...
Plea Deals (which are what lawyers are debating) are a negotiation. We are under no obligation to give them as anything but common courtesy, and the level of the plea deal is highly dependant on the circumstances of the scenario that happened. If the lawyer feels we are being too stiff, they can take it to a bench trial and get a judge to rule on a sentence. Not to mention that the cops aren't setting the fine and time on the charges, that is set by DoJ/Staff.

How are cops punishing people who decide to fight their charges? They might amend the charges they're pressing, but they can't just arbitrarily decide to increase the time/fine of the existing charges...

i haven't personally seen it in the cells, but i have heard of cops attempting to push more tickets on people that want tell the officer they'll contest it in traffic court. which kind of sucks for me because i was able to hold that even though wright is only a state clerk and that rp essentially got kneecapped because officers just don't want to go to court
