24/7 being removed from people with "felons"
I post this from my own POV and no influence or knowledge from any other 24/7 or 24/7 store owner.
In the last 24-48 hours all stores that were owned by individuales with “felons” were contacted by COC and were told that due to a recent in-city changes “SACOR team” will be taking stores back from any owner who has a felon charge on their record.
My overall feedback on this is quite blunt I will admit and will be first to say that I'm open to any response on this topic to maybe see the light from others POV. However this RP created from this new ruling is quite lackluster, un informative and overall kills a lot of peoples RP from which they have created from stores. To be told that in three days that your store will be taken from you and there is nothing you can do is definitely a stab in the back without any reasoning besides “to serve the state better and provide more opportunities to those who choose to be crime free.”
I mention it kills a lot of peoples RP because for example. Myself and the store that I own (the one being behind VPD) has been operational in the city for just over a year now. The shop was one of the original stores to open and has always attempted to be at the forefront of attempting to provide for the community with both resources but also the entire reason that 24/7’s and business have contracts as well as constant interactions and that the soul reason EMS is involved with stores. The RP arch that the store has created has overall been something that I can personally say has been a big involvement in my character development and a focal point to be able to create constant interactions and RP with people in the city from ordering items from business and or speaking to COC in attempts to improve stores.
To cut something long to short and summarize what i'm getting at, to have the store removed without any actual RP besides a COC member coming and saying we are taking it is a disappointment. To not have any real consideration for each store separately and or giving the owner an opportunity to change how they operate is really demotivating especially as stated above. It's been an entire year spent developing RP down this avenue but because some stores are profiting a lot we all face the consequence is dissatisfying.
All I ask is for this to potentially be rethought and find a different or better approach to create RP for everyone instead of killing a large amount of people’s.

PinnedWe fully appreciate and understand your perspective on this matter, but we made this decision as originally 24/7 stores were planned for civilians and these stores are making too much money for it to go to the wrong pockets.

It’s just going to become what it once was with the 24/7’s, them being in a horrible spot. Stop dictating so much RP and let stuff unfold, it’s getting ridiculous.

i don’t agree with CoC just taking the 24/7s back without allowing the person to transfer ownership to someone that does have a clean record. between that and what i’ve heard of the contracts for regular businesses, CoC is extremely controlling and i feel like they do more restricting of roleplay than enabling. pretty much one of the reasons i’m super hesitant, as a clean record civ, to do anything business related - the CoC contracts are designed to fuck you over on a whim.

Coming from my own POV.
I asked during my interview when i was fully legal. Would being a felon effect my chances of getting a store? They told me felons dont have priority over civillains. I maintained being legal for a long time until just before i got my store i was raided and a warrant came from it, therefor making me now a felon.
The store itself was stocked daily, 2x a day infact. I had employees working alongside me.
So now the store, after hard work and dedication for months has just been taken from underneath us. After all the headaches trying to get contracts done and creating further RP ensuring that the contracts where kept fair. If anything it’s just simply disappointing. With no oppertunity to even correct ourselves by expungements etc. We are just simply told “No”.
The amount of times i was told “You’re not a business owner, you just lease it from the 24;7” So then why does the Felony rule apply to us here and now just randomly out of the blue?
I understand the outlook right now that stores shouldn’t be “Gang” owned however this was a route for some genuine RP to be produced that has just been stamped out completely.

So you can’t be a felon to buy it, but once you buy it you can do felonies makes no sense.
It’s been like that since the beginning as a civilian option only 🤷♀️ felons can work at it but not own it.

I don’t believe this is true, I know of two stores that were bought by felons and owned by felons up until this point. And if i’m being honest the most shops that are ran well are ones owned by felons. The ones that come to mind are the Strawberry store (Owned by a felon), the store next to VPD (Owned by a felon), the store next to MG block (Owned by a felon), and the store up on route 68 (Owned by a felon). Most other stores either aren’t stocked very often or don’t have much effort put into them besides the basics. Im not saying there are no other good shops not owned by felons, however I do believe this will kill most 24/7 from being as active as they are now.

Wrong. Felons could own stores and have some of, if not, the best stocked stores in the server because they’re ACTIVE. We’ve been through this Civ only 24/7s before and it went horribly. Civ’s aren’t active enough in the city to be running these stores.

i think a lot of unrest comes from not offering/allowing RP to happen, I think giving these store owners a week to find a new owner that has a clean record and then asking for a new leasing contract which could cost more money to transfer, is more than enough to give people the chance to forward their roleplay and not feel like they’ve paid money to lease the business, and then rules change on them half way through and now they’re kicked out on the streets with nothing to show from it, not even a chance to create more roleplay that could come from this. Just taking a “business” and not giving any chance for those parties to be able to roleplay anything apart from moving their stuff out withing 2 days is very close minded and doesn’t consider anyone in the process.
