Stop Punishing Criminals for Wanting to Roleplay.

Stop punishing roleplayers for wanting to roleplay in criminal situations.

Problem:

  1. A person gets a lawyer, wants to fight their case.

  2. Waits 30 minutes for a lawyer, because only one is on duty - not the lawyers fault

  3. Waits an additional 1 Hour 30 Minutes for SAO/PDO to decide if it's a trial or a bench trial.

  4. Get told its a trial, not allowed a bench trial.

  5. Plea not guilty.

  6. Be forced to full time, full fine in prison - to add to the 2.5 hours of zero roleplay already experienced.

Solution

  1. Start a timer from the moment a lawyer begins speaking to the suspect, or when the suspect asks for a lawyer (if none available)

  2. The timer stops when the suspect pleads.

  3. Deduct that time from the sentence.

  4. Stop punishing people for wanting to roleplay with lawyers.

There aren't enough lawyers. The reason nobody plays a lawyer? Because lawyers can't do shit. You have cops/SAO who want to railroad every crim into a jailcell for the longest time possible, under the misdirection that "Their SOP's require them to do so". Echo will see more Lawyers, more courtroom RP and less hatred towards police, if they're actually allowed to roleplay situations like this. If they've served time. They've served time. Peroid. I'd provide 2.5 hours of footage of my crim character sitting in the cells staring at a wall whilst everyone else roleplays around him, but that'd be as boring for anyone watching the video, as it would for me as the roleplayer. This comes from someone who MAINS a cop and alts a crim. It sucks. Really - it's awful.
