Searching Trunk Bug

Reason: i am experiencing a bug when i search trunks. For whatever reason i have to search the trunk of vehicles multiple times before i find any items. I have also had my friends search them and they find items first try. I think this may be something i am either doing wrong or something specifically wrong with my game etc. im unsure so would appreciate any help with this issue.

Evidence: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2265011182 in the attached video i search a car fully and present my F8 menu after every action. This starts at about 10 minutes into the 15 minute video.

Replication: Steal a car. Lock the car and Unlock the car so the trunk is unlocked. Search everything you are able to and search the trunk last. In my experience i have to repeat searching the trunk more than 5 times to get a reward. In others experience they are receiving rewards after the first search as intended.
