Reduce Fines
Id ask for the fines to be reduced back to what they were post wipe, not as of like a week ago. Had a Vangelico and caught a suspect. Instead of the casual 8k fine it was for Armed Robbery, Hostage Taking, Class 1 & Evading, it was a 13k fine, comparable to a Drug Trafficking and put that crim into the negative. IC, I asked SAO if they knew about these increases to the fines, which none of them had knowledge of.
It seems like someone went through the Penal Code & MDT and upped the fines w/o making an announcement in SACOR like usual. We had a Vangie where 4/5 suspects were caught, racking up 45k in fines w/o a 50k payout.
This sudden and drastic increase in fines is just going to kill crime, killing PD RP, killing a very entertaining aspect of the server. IMO, these increases to the fine should have been done prior to the wipe, or atleast 3 months down the road when Criminals have the money to sustain themselves. Plz fix <3

Fines are fine and rewards from crime have been bumped up to compensate for this.

I think some fines being pretty high, such as anything involving shooting police or having police weapons, is completely fine because there needs to be that risk vs. reward factor. I don't think that the risk vs. reward for the actual crime you're doing should be so close to the payout of said crime though. I think people will adjust eventually, but like everything, it's just difficult right now.

I feel like certain fines can go down but Violent crimes should probably go up as a way to reduce shootouts in the future

True, in part, shoot-outs will happen either way, but making them less frequent could have an upside to adding more RP over Gun play for example.
I guess it will play out over time.

I wouldn't recommend a reduction in all fines, as mine have been normal for the crimes that I was charged with.
It could be that certain crimes do indeed have a higher threshold compared to others, this being done on purpose or something that may have been overlooked.
It won't kill crime, but it may make people think twice before getting into something, where there is a big payout, but on the reverse side, there is a huge fine & prison time involved.
Obtaining money as a criminal is very easy & simple, if you know what you're doing and how to maximize your time to profit margin. For example, I made over $40,000 in the space of 5 hours today.
So if people are aware of large fines, then it could lead to more interesting chases/plans being made, even shoot-outs, if the risk is that high.
Those who got fined, did they complain about the amount that were stated?
