Thoughts about removing the sponsor system or reworking it completely and taking away sponsored races as a whole?
This is to promote normal racers to start hosting their own races and not having just a small handful of people controlling the roleplay and more so using their positions to sell sims/and other usable items like nos, harness, plates, repair kits, track tokens and monitor the race scene and blacklist accordingly when needed and to make sure blacklists are enforced, or even add on to their position as track testers and to be able to remove useless/bad tracks.
A cool idea i think would be something like having "competition races" held by an anonymous entity (not a player) that happens 3 or 4 times a restart, with different tracks that cycle, and with different vehicle classes that cycle, and when the time happens for everybody to be lined up and ready to go when the clock hits so you're not waiting 15minutes for hosts friends/stragglers to turn up and stopping the same 5 tracks that are religiously ran every day, every restart.
This would in turn start giving more people opportunities with different classed cars a chance to race their cars that they bought instead of the current races primarly being A class that are hosted. And it would encourage others to make purchases in game for different classed cars.
An example of a competition races during each restart:
NA restart
Race 1: 7:00 PM est, A class, track: Coast to Coast
Race 2: 8:30 PM est, S class, track: Eastside GP
Race 3: 10:30 PM est, A class, track: Vinewood Togue
Race 4: 11:45 PM est, A class, track: Banham Canyon
Au restart
Event 1: 3:00 AM est, B class, track: Jetlag
Event 2: 4:30 AM est, A class, track: BBD Breeze
Event 3: 6:30 AM est, S class, track: Marlowe Circuit
Event 4: 7:45 AM est, A class, track: De Ja Vu
and so on.
Then reworking the svc payout for competition races if sponsor races were removed, to an enhanced payout scheme that’s more rewarding for people who place well and gives more opportunity to those who want to competitive race.
An example for a 20 man race.
1st Place: 500 SVC
2nd Place: 400 SVC
3rd Place: 300 SVC
4th Place: 200 SVC
5th Place: 100 SVC
6th - 10th Place: 50 SVC each 50 SVC x 5 = 250 SVC
11th - 15th Place: 25 SVC each 25 SVC x 5 = 125 SVC
16th - 20th Place: 10 SVC each 10 SVC x 5 = 50 SVC
Total for 1 Race: 500 + 400 + 300 + 200 + 100 + 250 + 125 + 50 = 1,925 SVC
Total for 4 Races: 1,925 SVC x 4 = 7,700 SVC ($77,000)
with the current sponsor system of there being sometimes 10+ sponsor races being held during the busy NA period and the current SVC payout for sponsor races,
These are current SVC payouts in Sponsor races.
1st Place: 350 SVC
2nd Place: 250 SVC
3rd Place: 175 SVC
4th Place: 100 SVC
5th Place onward (16 participants): 50 SVC each 50 SVC x 16 = 800 SVC
Total for 1 Race: 350 + 250 + 175 + 100 + 800 = 1,675 SVC
Total for 4 Races: 1,675 SVC x 4 = 6,700 SVC ($67,000)
Total for 10 Races: 1,675 SVC x 10 = 16,750 SVC ($167,500)
overall you would initially stop pumping so much svc into the economy and start promoting people to host their own races instead of relying solely on sponsor races to happen and taking a lot of burden off of the current sponsors. As you can see with that layout 4 competition races held a restart even with the enhanced price still doesn’t compare to the 10+ sponsor races held each restart, As 4 competition races would only be 7,700 SVC ($77,000) and with the current number of sponsor races this is only 10 would be 16,750 SVC ($167,500). Its a huge difference in what’s being put into the economy right now. And IF sponsor held races were removed it would encourage people to host their own races IF current non sponsor held races gave a fair SVC payout so I’d definitely encourage normal held races SVC payout to be increased slightly.
The current payout for open races for a 15 man race is,
1st Place: 35 SVC
2nd Place: 25 SVC
3rd Place: 17.5 SVC
4th Place: 10 SVC
5th Place: 8.5 SVC
6th to 15th Place (10 participants): 5 SVC each 5 SVC x 10 = 50 SVC
Total for 1 Race: 35 + 25 + 17.5 + 10 + 8.5 + 50 = 146 SVC
Total for 4 Races: 146 SVC x 4 = 584 SVC ($5840)
Total for 10 Races: 146 SVC x 10 = 1,460 SVC ($14,600)
What i would suggest to be a fair payout that's not too much but encourages others to host would be,
1st Place: 100 SVC
2nd Place: 75 SVC
3rd Place: 50 SVC
4th Place: 30 SVC
5th Place: 20 SVC
6th to 15th Place (10 participants): 10 SVC each 10 SVC x 10 = 100 SVC
Total for 1 Race: 100 + 75 + 50 + 30 + 20 + 100 = 375 SVC
Total for 4 Races: 375 SVC x 4 = 1,500 SVC ($15,000)
Total for 10 Races: 375 SVC x 10 = 3,750 SVC ($37,500)
So if you were to remove sponsor races and implement this idea
with 4 competition races the Total for 4 Races: 1,925 SVC x 4 = 7,700 SVC ($77,000)
and put into factor if there were 10 open races held Total for 10 Races: 375 SVC x 10 = 3,750 SVC ($37,500) (not including if they were to add on a buyin factor).
Total of these would only be 7,700 SVC ($77,000) + 3,750 SVC ($37,500) = 11,450 SVC ($114,500)
And currently ran as is with sponsor races, this is the payout just for 10 sponsor races ran with only 20 people in each race, 16,750 SVC ($167,500)
Obviously the svc amount doesn’t need to be exactly this, but it’s a rough idea of what is fair/not economy breaking and pushes for more rp for everyone involved in the racing scene and not just a handful of people controlling the roleplay.
I like that sponsors are unique to Echo but the actual idea of sponsors currently is not really thought out and executed properly
And i’ve already taken into consideration that some people wont join if they don’t get their 50svc for coming 27th, but it is extremely unfair for them to get the same payout as what someone who came in 5th would get in a sponsor race. It unreasonable to be rewarded a participation 50svc when someone in 5th was busting their ass off to keep that position to get rewarded the same as what someone in 27th+ would get.
AND there are clear RP opportunities for these people to host “Beginner” races that are separate from people who race competitively.
