Quality of Life changes

I know the devs have been heavily focused on the civ update for quite some time now and my concern is that the crime scripts that were created are not balanced well resulting in the work the devs have done, pointless as no one is utilizing them. I wanted to share some Quality of Life changes that are minor and easy changes to the current script work that can bring life back to the cops and especially crims to cure the staleness they are seeing. With the criminal expansion there are some amazing scripts brought to the city but a lot of them are not touched and havent been touched since the release of the crim update.

My main focus of this suggestion is to improve the quality of rp and player to player interaction and cure some of the frustrations both cops and crims deal with on the daily till the civ expansion is released and some more crim changes come.

1. Link up app

- Allow criminals to see where they are in queue for their specific job + all jobs. Example: “2/3 for Fleeca & 3/5 for all jobs”. This will allow you to know you’re 2nd for the fleeca and when you’re 1st for your job, begin setting up the plan and getting ready.

why: Currently when you are in queue, a lot of the times you arent sure if you’re next for a fleeca or 3rd which results in people sitting still with little to no rp as they are trying to stay prepped for a job. This also incentivizes lower quality escape plans as you have to have people sitting with the vehicles or things needed for the plan. This has happened to us on a number of occasions where we are forced to sit still for 3 to 5 hours and our time could be put to better use providing more RP

- Allow you to queue for a job even if the jobs are “on hold”. Queuing for a job does no harm to anything as jobs can be put on hold but when you’re trying to queue for a job but its on hold it forces you to sit still refreshing your phone/link up app to catch the small window it goes active to get in queue. In fact, it creates the same issue we had with boosting back in the day where people would sit still in a tablet sniping boosts. We have created that with this issue

- Have a check in place for how long a job can be on hold and force it to pop. Example: Fleeca takes 1 hour cooldown + X amount of cops available. But if the fleeca has been on cooldown for 1.5 hours then the job will pop. This should only be a check for houses, fleecas and vangies

Why: A lot of times cops will stay on a call for too long and not get off the call which results in being next in queue for a job and waiting another hour+ to pop. (It’s not that I dont want cops on a chase. I request air1 and demand more cops every time. It’s that I’d rather have a bank pop with less cops chase or no cops and still have the RP involved in that bank with it popping in a timely manner so I can provide better RP than waiting for a job than have to sit still or “on call” which provides very little RP value to the city for hours on end.)

2. Vangies

- Increase the payout of vangies until a better script can be created. Vangies has not really been touched for 8 months and it’s because the grind it takes to get materials, the costs of making thermite without materials makes this a dead script. Bringing more heists back will help with queuing for jobs and change up things for cops going to different scenes

- Decrease the amount of materials needed for thermite to lessen the wild grind because in its current state, buying the thermite nets you a negative payout for vangies and gathering the materials is so long of a grind whereas getting items needed for a fleeca is a much easier task

- Change the hacks for thermite or at least vangies to the tier 3 hack with a little less time and keep the laser hack the exact same as stores with 3 attempts till failure. The current hack for vangies and paleto is one of the most difficult hacks in the city, I would argue vangies is far more difficult to hit than a fleeca. Ill get to fleeca being fail proof next but you pretty much cannot fail a fleeca like you can vangies. The vangies hack is commonly cheated from people as well where the tier 3 hack is far more difficult to cheat with the changing dots.

3. Fleeca

- Swap green card hack and USB hacks. The hacks should get progressively more difficult as they go on. The hardest hack of a fleeca is the dot hack which requires a USB. Also have 3 attempts at each of those hacks and if you fail then you are locked out.

- The till hack. 4-5 boxes instead of 3-4 boxes. 3-4 is far too simply and every person in the city can do it

- Change the drill hack to another hack. This is another hack that is commonly cheated in the city and this task is what progresses you to paletos.

4. Selling weed, xanax and vicodin

- Allow the selling of these smaller drugs to be sold in quantities from 5-15. This is like note cleaning, you can clean notes in larger quantities than marked bills. With the current state of selling to locals and the cost of weed bags, xanax and vicodin, most people drop these items on the floor or dont grow anymore. Example: I had a big drug operation going where I would buy from other growers and then sell to runners and it provided good RP. It died out because of how tedious it is selling these drugs. Meth and coke IMO are perfect

5. Allow notes to be cleaned through some local jobs for $70/per but larger quantities. This will bring more life to the city of people doing other activities and we see more vehicles being used outside of the norm Cargo van, personal car, cop car.

6. Advanced lock picks and safe cracker tools need usage degrade

- Safe cracker tool needs to have 3 attempts at a store then it breaks. This will have more people “buy” safe cracker tool through its criminal route which no one does in its current state so its a missed opportunity for sinking money

- Advanced lock picks as well. Maybe have more like 5-7 usages. I almost never need to buy advanced lock picks and will have the same ones till they degrade. Having them break or wear down when use would create more interactions between players and another money sink

7. Crypto Heist

- This one might be more script work but crypto heist is a great heist but another one that is never used, resulting in script work from the devs being pointless. We can make this job used by bringing more value to EVC. Make ALL local items bought from the BM bought with crypto and require crypto to be used again for claiming larger jobs like vangies, fleeca and above. EVC is VERY over saturated and this change would benefit the EVC oversaturation and bring a fun heist the devs made used as right now everyone just drops it on the ground

8. Trap houses are another thing that has big potential but because of it’s balancing it is not used and can provide so much RP to the city. Maybe someone in the comments can speak more on this but my understanding is the cost is too high when you compare the risk of losing the trap house over night.

9. Job SSD cards

- These should not be dropped from big jobs but instead of illegal item that is then turned in somewhere for the SSD. Right now people will get a paleto, bank truck etc ssd and immediately install it on their phone and write down the “code” and share with many friends which results in a loop hole of the progression and no risk for getting out with the SSD. SSD’s shouldnt have a code to share IMO but that’s up to you all.

10. Reset in rep for all crim activities and brought a more lengthy grind for some of the activities or at least a reset in houses and BM. I was very excited to see my rep climb in BM to see what would be unlocked till I sold a bunch of notes and immediately maxed out and had access to everything. Allow BM to sell some guns with modifications on them at random. Houses also seem to not have a rep system as new people are getting bigger houses at the same rate as I am it feels

11. Tier 1, 4 and 5 houses have a new hack brought to them. People love doing little hacks, it keeps everything new and fun. The tier 1 houses are just pressing E. I think we can bring something simple in thats still a hack. Id be willing to help if provided some options for hacks. Tier 4 and 5 are the same thing. Maybe less time but it doesnt effect anyone in the city really so 3-5 are all the same.



I would love to get involved more with the balancing or crime and provide a good perspective of what it’s like to play from a full time criminal view who does all jobs in the city. I applied for the staff team to help so hopefully I hear back :)
