PD & RACING SIMS
I want to suggest removing racing sims from PD training. Here’s why:
I get that cops need practice tools, and that's totally fine. But the issue is that PD has been using the racing app to show up at races and get info about them through the app.
Also, cops have been using the racing sims to practice, but they’re basically just racing around with lights on to get the best times. Basically just racing but with fancy lights.
I just don’t see why PD should have access to these sims if they’re meant for people to race. PD should have their own system or make the SIM check if its a cop using it and make it a “Cop Version” where only cops can join and see information.

Or we go a lil more realism remove racing sims from cops and teach cops the way irl cops learn and get qualified in heat units. You take a class and pass. Not be a good racer… you test cars in huge lots get taught by instructors. Learn sops and how to read people you chase.. racing on a course with difficult times to beat sounds like your going for an irl race lic.

Extremely needed, I think this is immersion breaking so much to even see that cops are on the leaderboards or even hosting races.

The thing that I’ve seen racing sims being used for within PD is for the HEAT cert which we need something like a racing sim so that we can conduct the trainings and people can get certed. I do agree with the fact that PD shouldn’t be using the racing sim to do other races for best times and info regarding active races as it’s unfair and not enjoyable.
Regarding the HEAT training, I would really like to see something like a VR script or something along those lines that PD can use for training like this and it kinda removes you from seeing other players and crashing into them which also will remove seeing PD conducting high speed trainings in city and possibly crashing into people.

100% agree PD should have their own version of it with strict limitations around when it can be used and all. this might be a whole separate issue, but PD really does need to get better about stopping when they hit someone and need to learn that just because you’re responding to something with lights and sirens doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to stay in correct lanes

When it comes to the Sims being used to see if there are any races going on and to get people to races thats against the SOPs (idk if its a rule break but its a HUGE no no for IC reasons). When it comes to practicing, they have a set time they have to pass and after they pass the time they dont have to do the tracks again. So idk whos just going for the best times cause I know of no one who likes running the tracks all the time.
100% agree tho if possible a different PD sim should be a thing just so some bad apples dont use it maliciously to fuck over races at the start

Unfortunately that’s going to be the case with everything. If someone has access to it but should not use it and they can get away with it. People are going to use it to their advantage. I want to try and limit that because its been a problem to my understanding.
