Suggestion: Placeable evidence markers and physical evidence bags (not talking about the duffel bags we have now) that we can label with a number.
Type of Suggestion: PD/QOL
Reason for Suggestion: The current way cops (mainly CID) collect evidence can be kind of difficult and messes up your process if you forget which order you picked up evidence in. The way I know a lot cops and CID do it is after taking photos of a scenes evidence and you pick up that evidence, you have to remember in which order you picked them up in. We do this because lawyers and court are now trying to ask where evidence was and also allows us to paint a bigger picture on how it went down instead of saying "Yeah his blood or a casing was there on scene.". So if we had physical evidence markers with numbers on them that you can see in a photograph, we could place those down next to evidence locations and then take a photograph (this now shows labeled locations of where a specific piece of evidence was collected). Then we could take a plastic evidence bag (maybe make it similar to a food container), pick up that piece of evidence and place it in the evidence bag but allow us to give that evidence bag a number like how PD does with badges; when you buy a badge you get a prompt to input a image url. We could make that same prompt appear if we use the evidence bag, but instead of an image url, we can input a desired number. Then we could remove the physical evidence markers by deleting prop or they expire and despawn after like an hour or so. You return to PD and remove that piece of evidence from the plastic evidence bag and run in like we already do (so there would really be no change to how we process evidence) and then you can just trash the labeled evidence bags.
Cause for Suggestion: Not much else to put here, but as stated before, the way we collect evidence can be difficult and out of order if you forget which order you picked it up in. But overall I feel like something of the sort described above would be a major QOL to PD in collecting evidence and allow a better process to document a scene for lawyers or in court as well as some of us who want the added immersion because we enjoy this kinda thing.
