Hunting riffle eats sniper ammo

When hunting, i have ammo in the riffle when i shoot the animal then i can go and skin the animal and when i pull out my riffle again its empty and has no ammo. This happened 3 times while hunting for 40 minutes

(i think its bugging when you change from the gun to the knife and back)
