I can reproduce with a fly fishing rod after the first catch. https://youtu.be/q1d7WSipAxY

    Reproduction steps:

    1. Select a fly fishing rod from the inventory

    2. Make first catch

    3. Model disappears

It will reappear if you stop and start fishing again. Based on limited testing, the rod may still be visible to other people
