Disallow posting photos IC from other servers

What really is immersion breaking is:

AI art is stealing from other actual artists.

Different clothing is not immersion breaking, there is also no advertising to anything when there is no actual logos, names to things. Its just character clothing, in gta v, still the same game.

You have to count to this every characters story, so it does make sense that they travel and have bit different clothing. Its not immersion breaking imo when you think how many photographers, music artists etc there is. It fits to their characters, maybe not yours - which is fine. also those pictures have been taken with going by echos rules still. I dont see the issue personally 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have no hate towards the lovely photos that other people take in other cities, for starters.

However, seeing photos from another server being used in Echo gives off an impression that you are advertising for another server whether intentional or not. I don't think people post these photos with malice intent but it comes off as such. New people to the city will be confused when they see branded clothing, cars, different hairstyles, different makeup options and different furniture options, expecting Echo to have these assets but do not. The developers work around the clock to provide Echo with unique assets and people should be using it.

As for AI, it shouldn't be allowed. We have wonderful artists and photographers in the city. Allowing AI makes Echo's hardworking artists lose business. It shouldn't be allowed based off of this alone. We shouldn't undervalue Echo's artist community.

I disagree with people saying it’s immersion breaking. If the characters look exactly the same, how is it breaking immersion. That makes absolutely no sense to me lol. People use it for cover arts, etc because the options in echo are limited and sometimes cannot give off the aesthetic or vibe that people are going for via clothes, hair, accessories, poses, props and more. It’s creative expression. Along side with traveling to other countries and taking pictures and “paris” adding to their storyline. It’s the same as if you photoshop the photo to look that way, no? If that’s the case then no edits should be allowed on photoshop to any photos because it’s ’immersion breaking’? Also I don’t see how it’s advertising another server if the people aren’t going around saying “come join xyz server and take photos.”

how is it immersion breaking when they look like their characters in echo? its still the character just with different clothing on. Dont see the issue seems like an over reaction tbh if your immersion is broken by that but not mfs talking about their irl jobs saying "nightmares" ... There are other things that are way more immersion breaking that happen in Echo on a daily basis.

As someone who does this, I don't believe it's immersion breaking. There are the same rules that we have to follow, and to be completely honest, it just gives us more creative freedom when it comes to outfit design and photo taking.

Unfortunately, if certain dynamics were added into Echo to make photography easier, it would be abused. Using other servers and having a character that looks identical with the one from Echo makes it easier for new content to be shared. Not to mention, it actually creates RP. Echo is a long-standing community, and with that being said, a lot of things have already been done. People who consider themselves models or are frequent posters on Instagram can agree that it is quite difficult to find new and creative ways of showcasing your character.

False Advertisement would be me posing in front of a BMW or something of the sort. But having more clothing items isn't immersion breaking. Everyone who does this still abides by Echo's rules.

TLDR: It isn't immersion-breaking, and creates good RP for Echo. It's called trying to be creative when it comes to modeling IC. It's just more creative freedom :)

Completely agree with this suggestion and all the people blindly defending it are probably the biggest offenders. This simply has no place in the server and hasn't since the server started. Where do you draw the line? Can I take a picture on a different server with some fancy import and post it here? It doesn't effect anyones RP or break there immersion its just a car I used to use back in Paris :eyeroll: . Or how about I pose with some cool looking weapons from a public server xD. I am suprised staff haven't come in and given an official response on this as Instagram and other social media IC is heavily moderated. Leaving this in is a disaster waiting to happen.
