Custom Plate vehicle key not working

The vehicle with a custom plate does not turn on when a key is used. Even if the car was brought out with that key, or a new one is created in the vehicle. When attempting to use the Engine Start button in F9, I get “Missing Keys”.

This means I have now effectively paid $25 to brick my car. Fantastic.
