Addition of a Fire Department to EchoRP

Recently Flawws discussed in the Discord about how he would love to Have a Fire Department in the city. This is something I have been wanting to see in Rp between this server and the server I came from. With the Criminal Update Live and Staff stating a Civilian Update would be coming next I felt this was the best time to put my two cents in and give some ideas and or suggestions into what a Fire Department would look like in EchoRP.

This Department could be separate from EMS but could also be a Division of EMS where EMS and LSFD work as two Departments under a joined Command similar to the SASP.

The Los Santos Fire Department could be Headquartered out of the Rockford Hills Fire Station which is located on the corner of Rockford Drive and South Boulevard Del Perro, behind the DOJ Building.

The Fire Department would be lead by a Chief and Deputy Chief's (Number  of Deputy’s depending on the size of the Department) after which Ranking Structure would go as followed.

• Captain

• Lieutenant

• Sr Firefighter

• Firefighter

• Candidate

The Callsign the Department would use would be Firefighter - F (Foxtrot)

Some of the types of calls the Department would respond to would be 

• Fires 

• Fuel Spills and other Hazmat kind of calls

• Assisting EMS on Mass Casualty Calls as well as responding to /311 Medical Calls when EMS is not around or backed up 

Now I can go into more explanation about how some of these types of calls could work

Fire Calls:

Fires and how they work could be reworked on the server. Currently fires burn for a period of time before going out on their own, some longer than others. Fires could last longer/work differently depending on the case of the fire (Car explosion, gas pumps hit) in which the Fire Department would need to be called by /911 (These could also be set to only go off differently when the Fire Department is clocked in that way you don't have a car on fire for an extremely long time and no one able to get the vehicle as it is engulfed in flames.) You could also allow Fire Extinguishers to be purchased either from the Fire Department (similar to Medical Equipment from EMS) or from Tool Stores like U-Tool. This way Civilians also have a way to combat smaller fires. Fires could also have a chance of starting from searching Dumpsters. (Unless its changed) Currently you can find some very flammable and combustible things from dumpsters like batteries which, when searching a dumpster could give a small chance the Dumpster catches fire due to these items improperly disposed of in the trash. You could also have a chance if you are out in the forest by Paleto, Grapeseed or Harmony that a fire has a chance to start a forest fire (Causes the forest in a predetermined distance to slowly catch fire in which either thee fire will be put out by the Fire Department or will eventually be put out but cant be spread past the predetermined area (Set like a distance marker)

These kinds of calls could also appear in the Dispatch from locals similar to current PD Calls of suspicious activity or brandishing.

Hazmat Calls:

Hazmat calls could be as simple as if a car leaking fuel is brought into a shop or parking lot area instead of shooting the fuel line. There could also be instances of a Chemical Spill that requires A Hazmat team from the LSFD to respond and clean (Maybe more ideas could be thought in regards to this)

Medical Calls:

In the real world Firefighters are trained in Medical First Aid and treatment. The LSFD could be a support arm to EMS in regards to responding to Medical Calls. If EMS is already busy with multiple patients and unable to respond to a call LSFD could respond. They could give treatment on scene for minor injuries or they can stabilize a patient and bring them to Pillbox or Paleto where EMS can treat them or check them in with Nancy (LSFD would not be able to work on patients in the Triage or Surgery like EMS) The LSFD could also support EMS by assisting on High Mass Casualty calls where additional units are required

Medical Calls would not be a Priority for the LSFD to respond to unless EMS is not available or they request assistance.


There were a few Certifications I thought of as well to start the Department with as well.

Fire Investigator:

Those Certified in Fire Investigation would be trained to investigate a scene of a fire for signs of how it started and its cause. This could be down to finding “Fire Evidence” on the ground similar to Evidence and Blood found using a Flashlight.

Fire 1 Certification:

(unknown if even possible) A cert for a Fire Department Helicopter used to assist in Wilderness Fire Calls to help put out a forest Fire. Similar to Angel 1 Cert and Air 1 Certs, Fire 1 certs would be trained in the proper use of flying the Helicopter as well as trained on how to use the Vehicle for Fire Suppression in Wilderness Fires in the County.


A few types of vehicles that could be used are:

A Fire Truck: a Ladder Truck as well as a Engine

A Squad Car: (Either a Landstalker like EMS uses or the SUV’s used by PD, can't remember the name at this time) Used for calls where a Fire Truck is not required, could be a Medical Call or a Hazmat call or any other non fire related call. 

A Utility Pickup: Used for Off Road Calls in the county to WildFires or other LSFD related calls in the wilderness where a Fire Truck or Squad car wouldn't be the best.

Helicopter: For Fire 1 Cert and Calls requiring a Helicopter.

These are just some of the ideas I had in regards to this. I hope the Staff team will give this a read and consider some of these ideas as I think a Fire Department would be a fun addition to Rp in the city.
