99% of ppl driving like in a video game (150mph in city)...where's the value of life?

I've been in this community for 3 days now. The people...frikin' awesome...the Echo RP staff...top notch. I know this isn't going to be popular, but for fu** sake, where's the value of life?! Every single street in town, I've yet to find someone that drives even REMOTELY like they're worried they're going to die. I do full stops and look around because any time I drive anywhere I can just about guarantee I'm going to be side swiped by someone. First day trucking, some guy t-boned my trailer while I was turning. He ran a red light and when I was about to RP the situation and why he was driving so fast the response was just, "because I'm a stud"...because you're a dumbass playing a video game not someone RP'ing. I'm not about to report anyone as the new guy, but if there was some way to help crack down on people ripping through the city, that would really help with the immersion. No one would drive like that IRL because one wrong move and you're dead.

    BTW, I'm not saying we should drive like blue hairs...just that we should try to keep it around the 60ish it's supposed to be (unless you're running from cops or something)

    This is generally just a difficult thing to be fixed because it's not just up to staff to crack down on this. The city is fast paced in general and driving the speed limit isn't always everyone's top priority. PD make occasional traffic stops and at one point it felt like that was all they were doing. At the end of the day it's up to the players and if they prioritize RPing out the situation. Sometimes there are people who just don't care and are solely focused on themselves and whatever content they can get their hands on. I can't speak for everyone but within the city I almost never go above 110 or 120 in fear of crashing into someone and if I do I always will check to see if they're ok.

      Considering PD is outnumbered by crims and civs 15 to 1, PD isn't going to be enough to make any difference cause we all know that not even half of the people are driving anywhere close to the speed limit.

      I use the speed limiter at 88 mph on the freeway and I have yet to pass a player.

      On this point, you're right... it is up to the players to follow the rules and not staff to try to "make" them, but it IS up to staff to enforce seever rules to maintain the environment they trying to achieve. It's totally ok if that's what everyone wants, maybe just don't promote it as "serious" RP and then of course if I want something more serious, that's on me to find it.

    In my honest opinion, people who are regularly driving ar high speeds, blowing through red lights it's borderline NVL flying through the city limits at 80+.

    If you're in a chase, Race, or something like that go for it.

    But comes off as LQRP to me if everyone feels the need to be in such a damn hurry.

    I stopped driving my motor cycle because everytime I do I get obliterated and downed at least 2 times and the majority of the time the person who smashed into me just takes off.

    No one's gonna be left on the server for you to play with if you tell them they can't speed. That's really all that needs to be said

    if you got places to be you got places to be. As long as the RP their injuries if they fly out of the car then i dont really see an issue. All cars are gonna be slower soon anyway if you guys read the vehicle feedback plan.
