Street Racing Revival

After the server wipe, racing has been going through a lot of unnecessary drama and other things both OOC and IC which as ultimately led to the racing scene dying with only 1 or 2 sponsored races happening per day and no other races being hosted whatsoever outside of the sponsored races. I for one have attempted to host many races that have been open / buy in races and have had no one joining the races both before wipe and now after the wipe. I believe that the racing app and the racing scene as a whole needs a revamp to making racing more enjoyable and bring in more people into a scene that is extremely small for a server as big as echo is.

• Sponsors and Sponsored Races

  • This whole sponsored race system with the sponsors and everything seems really cool if you look at it at face value, but there are a LOT of flaws to it. These races are there for people to gain SVC for completely free and is the only type of races you will ever get 6+ people to come out to. I feel like the sponsored race and sponsored system should get looked at and/or removed and replaced with regular races giving svc if they are open races and have more than 6 people in the race. I believe there should be a password system for private races and all private races should have 0 SVC gain to avoid people "farming SVC". Personally, I think buy in races for those open races should be the normal thing to happen, replicating the "VIP Race" system that has been put in place when Mountain Dragon hosts.

• Lap Record Leaderboard

  • Racing is a competition. Having a lap record leaderboard implemented into the racing app would be really cool to see to see who holds the fastest time on each race track.

• Buy Ins

  • Implementing a buy in tab into the race hosting menu would also be beneficial for the suggestion of every race being how the VIP Races work now, with a buy in put down in the menu it allows for SVC gain if there is that said buy in and enough people in the race. Not necessarily the most important thing, but is a nice things to have.

• Phasing

  • 60 second phasing is really good for races under 20 people. However once that number goes over 20 people like it was seeming to do in the sponsored races before wipe, 60 seconds does not seem to do a whole lot. I believe having an option to do 90 seconds of phasing would be the best balance of phasing at the start of races and getting spread out for the rest of it. 60-90 seconds should be more than enough.

This is a post from 4 months ago and is still very much needed. The racing scene is pretty much dead. Buy in's and getting rewarded for races is what street racing is about. Right now it seems to be something people only do when they are bored instead of it actually being a scene where people can get rewarded for winning.

It also seems that everyone is boosting none stop and I have seen ques be up in the 20's. People should have to bid on boost contracts with SVC and in order to get SVC you should have to race. This will revive the scene and also make not only racing worth it but boosting not be the only thing to do in the city for a lot of people. If banks can only be robbed by official gangs then why can everyone do a A boost?

Getting these boost contracts and moving up the tiers should be more difficult and meeting someone who can do a S or S+ should be a shock. Not only that you should be able to VIN Scratch S or S+ cars and after 60 days able to sell them (also put a limit on how many people can own) So no one is making stupid amounts of money off of flipping them none stop.

Having a tier system for cars and rankings for drivers in the racing app, is also a huge part to revive the racing scene. It also gives people a reason to own different classes of cars and make races in general more interesting. It also groups levels of drivers against each other instead of people being put off on racing because their car cant keep up or their driving.

That video is the direction that racing should go and is what the scene needs before its even more dead than it currently is. On top of that I have included a boosting app that is more in line to making boosting more rewarding in doing and accomplishing.
