I find the way the current mechanic script works when it comes to getting work done on your car, especially cosmetics, very tedious. Having the mechanic have to "scroll" through all options for you until you find something you like takes a long time and it's annoying having to tell them to go back to previous/next options all the time.
A way for customers to use a command (/preview or /modview for example) or an option through the F1 menu to customize their vehicle to their liking would be a huge QoL. When finished customizing, have it put a receipt into the player's inventory or something along those lines, which can then be given to the mechanic so they know what to put in/on the car.
I know that it might be a tad less immersive this way, but honestly having it the way it is now makes me not even want to get work done on my car at all and I've spoken to some people that feel the same way about it. This way, players could also possibly take their test drive car down to a mechanic shop to "preview" the customization that can be done to the car they're looking to buy, before they decide on buying it.
