Hunting Super Bugged and Just Really Bad

Hunting sucks if I’m being honest. One of the worst things I’ve gotten into… It was about $13,000 to get into legal hunting. I was hoping, as a new civ in the city trying to pay off their home legit, that this kind of investment would actually be good. It’s not. At all..

The hunting bait is bugged, literally does NOTHING, and costs $100. Even IF it worked, does it bring 1 animal to kill? If I do kill it and skin it, it probably only worth like $100 tops anyways so what’s the point to it???? Pointless item with no direction. Make that stuff dirt cheap like fish bait in city, because there are barely any animals around as it is. The rifle was $1000, knife was $500 and 5 boxes of ammo was another $1000. What a pocket sink for a ghost town of a hunting grounds.

Also, birds are completely bugged. Can shoot them, can’t skin them. Even in their “designated hunt areas” on the map. No idea if those are worth any money, but probably not cuz most things aren’t. Probably 20-40 bucks, barely worth the time and ammo.

So why does Hunting truly not pay well??? There are a few reasons that add up quick. SASP or whoever is in charge just made hunting and fishing licenses $5,000 each. AND you need to get your legal weapon license first for hunting, another $5,000. For the gun, knife and ammo and stuff we are looking at an easy $13,000 investment. Each kill is only worth like… $25-$100… and there’s an in-city time window. I calculated this window. You can hunt for like 43 mins, and then you can’t for like 28 mins. Whereas fishing you are stationary and constantly supplied with no tracking or time gates, hunting work includes tracking, bait, patience, ammo, aim and lots more regulations/laws. Finding animals even with the whistle is pain, the terrain is like 35-degree unclimbable or traversable inclines, and you’ll be lucky to get a kill every 1-2 minutes. Then you gotta skin it, another simple skill check. I’ll be lucky to get my 13K investment back in like 8-15 hours of hunting or so. I’m not looking for instant richness. But the scale of payout is abhorrent, even compared to fishing and fishing is like way under half the investment. Right now, hunting is a mountain climbing sim. Only usable for fun, I guess?

ONE LAST SERIOUS QUESTION: Why do all the deer and game spawn by the roads??? We are not legally allowed to hunt off main roads, but that’s where they flock to. The mountains feel empty and barren, I get attacked by mountain lions more than literally anything — I’ve been mauled once already. And all these designated hunt spots from SASP are on steep treacherous mountains. Not a single flat forest where I can actually hike around and hunt. My dad would not hunt here either lol. It’s just not practical and feels frustrating. RIP my wallet for this investment lol.
