To start I think trap houses 100% need a rework. There should be enough on the map for most gangs to have them if not all, as in my suggestion I will be explaining soon being a gang and getting to do gang things will be heavy related to having a trap house. Instead of people just going back and forth stealing trap houses from people you should only be able to rob them, taking any money or maybe even stealing progress for your own trap house.
A way to give being a gang more purpose could be to add tasks with in the trap house given either by an NPC or a computer in the building. The small tasks would be nothing crazy maybe just shooting locals and then reporting back to the computer or stealing some drugs and turning them in. After building a certain amount of reputation by doing these tasks new jobs will become available exclusively to gangs. I have ideas for two of these new jobs.
1. A 5v5 protect the president sort of heist pitting you against another gang. After getting enough rep you would be able to que for this job and it would put you into a que searching for another gang ready to do the job. After 2 gangs are picked who are in que the protectors will be given a location such as meat factory or Michaels house and be sent there to protect either a van of illegal goods or a NPC. The person can be 3rd eyed and made to follow you around so you can move them into a more protected position while the van can simply be moved with in a designated area next to the spot the heist chooses, driving the van out will result in immediate failure for the protectors. At the same time this is happening the attacker five is told the general area of the van or person and forced to do recon finding out where exactly it is. After finding the fight will ensure with either the van being stolen by the attackers or the attackers killing the NPC and a photo being taken with a camera giving a item in the pockets of the photo taker that must be returned to the trap house and turned in as proof of victory. Or vise versa the protectors down the other five and keep the goods or NPC protected, maybe adding a 30 minute timer for the attackers so they are forced to push instead of sitting for hours. Which ever side wins is given 100k (20k per person) and some more rep to there trap house while which ever side loses is told they failed and aren’t going to be given any contracts for awhile causing them to lose rep and be on a 3 day cool down to do this job again giving more gangs a chance to do the heist.
2. Considering what I have heard from cops and the fact that Bank Trucks are a thing now I believe Drug Runs should be reworked to instead be gang vs gang. This would again be a job earnable by getting rep in the trap house. To be started and queued other gangs must have people online and ready to attack the Drug Run however different to the protect the president job it would not be a 5v5 instead being a marker on the map of every gang that is online at the moment. You will also need coke boxes (more on that later) to pack the vehicle in order to start the job and money to be made. A 10 minute tracker will be on the vehicle and in that time the drug runners will need to fend off other gang members stopping the drug vehicle from being stolen and the five being killed. After the 10 minutes is up if the drug vehicle is able to be delivered then whichever group delivers it original group or not will get 125k (25k per person) and more rep within the trap house while if the original lose the drug vehicle and someone else turns it in they will lose rep but not be on cooldown instead needing to get another 10 coke boxes to start the job.
Non Gang Drug Runs: Because I know people will not enjoy the entire concept of drug runs being locked behind gangs I have a way for the job to still be done for non gang members as well as the way to get drugs for the gang drug runs. After selling a decent amount of drugs on the street a local will walk up to you and ask if you want to do something bigger for him, if accepted you will pay 10k for a Cartel Ambush Sim. It plays out like a normal job having to sit in que and wait for it to pop. Once it pops you will be given the location of a cartel convoy carrying a drug shipment in which you will have to drive over and take out the convoy and cartel members before looting the convoy getting boxes of coke. These boxes can either be used in your inventory and unpacked giving a random number of coke bags anywhere from 20-25 which can then be sold as normal. But if you choose to keep the boxes they then can be stored and after getting 10 can be used for a Gang Drug Run if in a gang and you have enough rep.
How Cops Would React: In my opinion protect the president and the new drug runs would be treated as a normal gang fight and cops only roll in after it is done. However if the cops for for some reason catch the drug vehicle and a person inside of it they will be hit with the normal Drug Trafficking charge adding more risk to it. But like said before no calls would pop for PD only shots fire or brandishing’s resulting in it being treated as a normal gang fight until proven otherwise. The Cartel Ambush heist however would get a call being “Armed Convoy” or something like that so PD knows. After PD roll up and see you loot the cartel a normal chase would ensue being treated like a Fleeca or Vangies with the goal being to get the drugs out.
Overall I think this would add a lot more for gangs to do as currently being in a gang doesn’t provide much other than a gunlist and would be a good ways for some natural beef to begin and for gangs to let out aggression and not be so bored resulting in low quality RP taking place. I’m curious to see peoples thoughts on the idea as a whole so please add any feedback.
