Firstly I'll say that the Black Market implementation seems good technically, there are some bugs but the devs are working through them and doing a great job.
My concern around the Black Market is it's purpose and impact on p2p sales. I am personally invested in that side of things because a lot of my RP, and the RP of my group, is built around distribution of criminal based items. We have been trying to establish ourselves in that market, building links with various gangs and facilitating sales wherever we can.
I don't operate like that for pure financial gain, obviously it needs to be part of it but the core goal is creating scenes and solid character interactions. With the Black Market setup as it is we will continue to do that. The way we operate makes everything face to face, no deals via text or adverts on Twitter/Yellow Pages, so as to increase worthwhile interactions.
From my POV the black market is potentially corner cutting those scenes as some people will see the RP we are trying to do as an inconvenience and much prefer to do the interaction free buying and selling.
I will freely admit I haven't fully understood the Black Market yet but I just hopeful that it can be used without impacting RP driven p2p sales. As a replacement for the PED who bought car parts I think its a great idea, NPC sales through make a lot of sense. I'd just like to see all other items that are bought and sold by players being done by people actually having to meet and set terms, this is what gets storylines and character growth going.
I put a lot of effort into getting my character out and about talking to others and sniffing out a deal, I realise that makes me personally invested in this but still feel it is an important point.
